Inclusion
Wellbeing
Why this matters
The health and safety of our employees, contractors and visitors is a fundamental part of being a responsible business. It creates a framework of procedures to make sure that the organisation consistently complies with the law.
Improving wellbeing and accessibility is vital to our inclusive culture. We invest in mental and physical wellbeing initiatives and are enhancing accessibility for all disabilities and neurodivergence.
Our ambition
Maintain a safe and healthy environment for our employees and contractors and reduce down-time caused by illness and accidents.
We aim to raise awareness and promote health, safety and wellness. We aim to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health by raising awareness.
Our progress this year
This year we expanded our Mental Health Champion network to
As a business we have trained
safety representatives to support us in managing safety in the workplace, enhancing our safety culture.
Implemented a H&S management system
Vision, our firm’s health and safety management system, provides a mechanism for management control and accountability and arrangements for implementation, monitoring, auditing, and continual improvement.
This platform allows us to prioritise the planning, organising, control, monitoring, and review of measures to protect employees from work risks and help allocate the correct resources, achieving effectiveness and efficiency.
Signatory to the Mindful Business Charter and building a network of 75 Mental Health Champions
Our team of Mindful Business Charter champions drives the implementation of charter principles and guidance across the firm. We trained 20 more Mental Health Champions in 2023, bringing our community of champions to more than 75 people across all UK offices.
Each champion is equipped with the knowledge and tools to recognise mental health challenges, provide first-line support and signpost colleagues to the most suitable interventions. Maintaining a strong community of champions enforces our commitment to a culture that prioritises positive mental health and the overall wellbeing of our people.
Launched a formal menopause policy and support group
In 2023, we published a formal menopause policy for all colleagues impacted by both perimenopause and menopause in the workplace. In response to feedback from our people, we have also launched a menopause support group to create a safe space for individuals to share experiences and seek guidance.
Supporting physical wellbeing
We have launched running clubs in the London and Liverpool offices, in addition to our football, netball, touch rugby and yoga clubs, providing an opportunity for like-minded colleagues to partake in activities together.
Next year's focus
We will work to further improve our health and safety culture and awareness across the firm, as well as implement campaigns and awareness-raising programmes to improve knowledge and encourage more participation in the firm's health and safety objectives. We will also continue to raise awareness and expand our programme into areas such as digital and financial wellbeing and continue to invest in and promote mental and physical wellbeing initiatives.
